The Packery Channel Sanctuary is tucked into a neighborhood on North Padre Island known as the Packery Woodlands. The only significant remaining stand of trees along the 113 miles stretch of Padre Island coastal lands, this sanctuary provides a critical stopover for neotropical migrants.

Migrating birds find refuge among the dense stand of Live Oak trees, nearby grasslands, and freshwater and marine habitats.
