A sure sign that the end of summer isn't too far off, the annual hawkwatch is beginning soon. Below comes from members Libby Even and Dane Ferrell. Note also news of the dedication on August 13th at the platform at Hazel Bazemore Park:

"The 2016 Corpus Christi HawkWatch season is upon us!

The HawkWatch is performed at the HawkWatch platform, located at Hazel Bazemore County Park in NW Corpus Christi.

The 2016 season runs from 08/01/16 through 11/15/16. Hours vary slightly(depending on Raptor activity), but generally run from 8:30am to 4:30pm(Central time).

This season's Celebration of Flight Festival, will be heldon 09/23 through 09/25.

This year's observers include Libby Even, Kevin Georg, Dane Ferrell, and 2 additional observers that we will introduce at a later date.

On 08/13 at 10am, we will be holding a dedication, honoring all of the fine folks that assisted in the creation of the awesome Butterfly/Hummingbird garden, located at the West end of our viewing area.

Please come out and join us!

Remember to bring binoculars, water, chair, and sunscreen.

See you there...

Also, we are having trouble securing housing for two counters this season. Please spread the word to anyone within a 10-15 mile radius of the park who may be interested in earning a little extra cash. The counters are two males, youngest is age 29. One room with two beds is the minimum space needed, allowing kitchen privileges for their meals, and they need internet access. They are responsible for cleaning their own mess, doing their own laundry, cooking their own meals, etc. They will have no time to party as they will work 6 out of 7 days per week. Guaranteed payment sent every month. Move in on August 13 or 14 and move out on November 16-17.
