A Celebration of Life for Kathy Griffith will be held at Fred Jones Nature Sanctuary on June 26. The obituary is in the May 18th issue of the Corpus Christi Caller Times.
Kathryn Griffith passed away May 5, 2015. Born in Dayton, Ohio on October 10, 1929 to Martin J. Mealey and Marie Callan Mealey. She was raised in Chatham, New Jersey and Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from St. Peter School in New Castle, Delaware and later moved to New York to work for Trans World Airlines, where she met and married John Arvid Lundmark.
They lived in Vienna, Virginia from 1953 until 1963 when they relocated to Leawood, Kansas.
Kathy loved the beach, and after a divorce moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1978. She owned Six Points Bathe and Groom, and worked as a medical transcriptionist at Memorial Hospital.
She had a deep love for her seven children, their spouses, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends. She loved birding, traveling, crossword puzzles, watching tennis and golf and reading a good murder mystery.
Corpus Christi was Kathy's home for over 35 years. She was an active member of the Audubon Outdoor Club and newsletter editor for 21 years.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marjorie M. Pettingill and Marie A. Mealey, ex-husband John A. Lundmark and sons John M. Lundmark and Paul A. Lundmark.
She is survived by brothers Martin Mealey and Gene M. Mealey, daughters Karen Killebrew (Steve), Marayah Rai and Amy K. Bethel (Daniel), sons Steven J. Lundmark and Robert A. Lundmark (Deborah), grandchildren Leah Marcum Phillips (David), Cyrus Marcum, Brett Lundmark and Katrina Lundmark, and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held June, 26, 2015. To honor her memory, the family requests donations to the Audubon Outdoor Club, Box 3352, Corpus Christi, TX 78404.
